The Decade Series - Introduction

Over the next few months here at RSS, we are going to introduce a "Best of the Decade Series" that will take a look at some of the most memorable moments from the world of sports in the first decade of this millennium. You didn't think we would just let the 2000's just come and go with no fanfare did you? (What do we call this decade anyways? The 0's?, shouldn't 2000's be the whole millenium? I'm confused...) Anyways, the sporting world was a much different place in the year 2000. We had all survived the Y2K crisis, nobody had ever heard of dogfighting, and Bill Belichik was just another crappy NFL retread coach... and Hank Aaron was still baseball's all-time home run king while steroids were something limited to Ben Johnson and pro wrestling. We've seen records fall, classic bloopers, tragedy striking, performances of a lifetime, and moments and games we'll remember for the rest of ours.

In the course of our Decade Series we'll look at the top 10 moments from the past decade in 4 categories:

-Soundbytes
-Athletes
-Games
-Stories

Every few days or so, we'll introduce a new story to the countdown, so keep checking back to RSS throughout the rest of the year to see if your favorite memory from the 2000's made our countdown. At the end of each category, we'll recap the list and offer a few that just fell short. We hope you leave your comments throughout of your memories for each moment, if you agree with the list (or not... well, just leave comments if you agree with us) and your thoughts on what we might have left out.

We hope you enjoy the Decade Series from the Yoders @ RSS.
